Job Description
As a Financial Reporting Analyst you will perform such duties and responsibilities and exercise such roles and responsibilities pertaining to that function, as may be determined and delegated to you from time to time by your Supervisor, management, or otherwise commensurate to your role per industry standards, which duties and responsibilities shall include, without limiting the generality of the following.
Roles and responsibilities
Your specific roles and responsibilities are as follows:
- Prepare and update financial statements, budgets versus actual, and other financial analyses depending on the company's needs in a timely manner, ensuring that financials are prepared in compliance with IFRS/ASPE, and up to date on reporting standards
- Present financial statements and other financial reports (i.e. offering cost analyses) to key management
- Proficiency in researching and preparation of financial accounting memorandums
- Support external financial reporting deliverables as needed
- Coordinate with Controller and Manager Financial Reporting and be main liaison for any audits
- Review filings, press releases, and presentations containing financial data
- Assist in financial modeling and forecasting
- Prepare tax returns depending on the company's needs
- Completion of all GST/PST examinations
- Support maintenance of key operational accounting functions, including review of other team member's work: reconciliations, AP, AR, accruals, deposits, monitoring AFE's or WO's
- Assist the Controller and Manager Financial Reporting in monitoring and reporting on internal controls at least annually
- Work on ad hoc projects such as financial models, special projects, deals, reports, or due diligence
- Work with a team of analysts and bookkeepers to ensure accurate and complete financial records
- Follow all lawful directions of your supervisor, Durum's senior management, and their delegates
- Follow all lawful Durum policies and procedures as duly and clearly communicated to you from time to time
