About the Company
We provide residential building design services to homeowners, investors,
general contractors and real estate professionals. We work exclusively on projects in California, helping our clients maximize land value by adding new dwellings on lots with existing homes, converting existing structures into new units, and creating new subdivisions. Our team focuses on providing expert feasibility, design & permit drafting services, focusing mainly on small
projects (we work on single-family buildings and small multi-unit buildings).

About the Role
Our client is looking for a Permit Specialist with 2-3 years of experience to support our growing project pipeline, and support the growth of our small business with plenty of opportunity and upside! In this role, you would assist the company's Head of Operations in many activities conducted during the permitting phase of our projects. This will include:

● Subdivision management
● Building entitlement application preparation and submission research
● Online permit submission
● Comment response processing
● Utility application management
● Follow ups with respective municipalities, as well as many other activities all aligned with
pushing permits forward as efficiently as possible.

This role will utilize our database structure for project management, but will also rely heavily on
an applicant's ability to track and prioritize their own tasks. Priorities will change daily and it will
be essential you are able to proactively act on new priorities. You will have the opportunity to
touch every phase of our projects, from contributing to feasibility studies, working with our
design team to update drawings in responses to comments from cities and our consultants
during the permitting phase.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
● 2-3+ year experience in a project management role in entitlements, architecture,
engineering, or construction
● Preferred - permitting residential construction in USA
● Bonus - experience permitting residential construction in California specifically
● Comfort reading, interacting, and discussing residential building entitlement plan sets
● Experience working in municipality web portals
● High attention to detail, willingness to double and triple check
● Proactive mindset
● Excellent file management habits
● Comfortable calling municipalities often to discuss our projects and related open
questions
● Willingness to relentlessly pursue all avenues of communication until a decisive answer
is found.
● Extremely task oriented. Able to manage many small task across multiple projects. Able
to reprioritize daily. Able to ensure no tasks fall through the cracks.
● Speaks excellent english and writes in english fluently
● Able to communicate clearly with many different stakeholders.
Nice to Haves (But Not Required)
● Project management experience in California single family housing development and
entitlement
● Experience working with building entitlement plan set in California including Architecture,
Structural, T24 plans
● Direct permitting experience in California
● Experience developing and working within database project management tools,
microsoft access, Monday, Asana, Airtable, Builder Trend, etc.
● Understanding of American building codes
● Architectural drafting experience
● Ability to QA/QC building entitlement permit sets
● Experience navigating subcontractor bids based off of plan sets
● Experience with RFI's
