About the role We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety & Compliance Coordinator to support our Safety, Quality and Compliance function across construction projects. This role is suited to someone with practical construction and safety knowledge who can independently review project drawings, scopes of work and specifications, identify the activities and associated risks, and determine the appropriate safety documentation and controls required. This is not a purely administrative or document-control role. The successful candidate will need to understand construction activities and be confident preparing project-specific safety documentation, including SWMS and Safety Management Plans, based on the actual scope of works.
Key Responsibilities - Review project drawings, scopes of work and specifications to understand the construction activities being undertaken.
- Identify relevant safety requirements, hazards and risks associated with project activities.
- Prepare project-specific Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Safety Management Plans and other required safety documentation.
- Ensure safety documentation is relevant to the actual project scope and construction activities.
- Manage safety, quality and compliance documentation across multiple projects.
- Review and maintain project registers, checklists, records and compliance documentation.
- Monitor daily site compliance and follow up on missing, incomplete or outstanding documentation.
- Assist with quality assurance (QA) documentation, inspections and project close-out requirements.
- Maintain internal safety and compliance systems and ensure documentation remains current and accurate.
- Identify gaps or areas of non-compliance and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
- Support project teams with safety and compliance requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with maintaining consistent safety, quality and compliance standards across projects.
Required Skills & Experience - Previous experience in construction safety, compliance, HSEQ, WHS or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, activities and associated risks.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, project scopes and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify safety requirements based on project activities.
- Experience preparing SWMS, Safety Management Plans, risk assessments and other construction safety documentation.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within a construction environment.
- Experience managing project safety, quality and compliance documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify gaps in documentation or compliance.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of safety and compliance requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience - Relevant qualification in Work Health & Safety (WHS), Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), Construction, HSEQ or a related discipline.
- Construction industry experience in a safety or compliance capacity.
- Experience with construction QA systems and project close-out processes.
- Familiarity with Australian construction safety and compliance requirements.
- Relevant WHS/OHS or construction safety certifications.
Work Schedule (Dayshift) - Monday to Friday (6AM-3PM; Manila Time)
Work Setup (WFH) - Permanent Homebased
- Candidate's are expected to have a conducive (quiet, distraction-free) dedicated workspace
- Equipment will be provided by the company
