Job Title: Training Specialist (TAE Qualified)Location: INDIA - HOMEBASED/REMOTEReports To: Program Delivery ManagerEmployment Type: Full-TimeAbout the Role The primary responsibility of a Training Specialist (TAE Qualified) is to prepare, deliver, and assess units of competency whilst ensuring the compliance requirements for the delivery of programs are met in accordance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). This role requires a sound, practical knowledge of the Australian VET system, AQF, and the Standards for RTOs, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality adult learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery - Liaise with the Manager/Student Services to confirm course details, materials, and resources are current and accurate prior to each course.
- Train and facilitate courseware in accordance with TAS delivery requirements, incorporating adult learning principles and ensuring quality training and assessment.
- Comply with nationally endorsed Training Packages within scope of registration and the Standards for RTOs 2025.
- Convey housekeeping and safety arrangements to students at the commencement of each session and ensure adherence.
- Actively promote equal access and invite students to advise of any special requirements (physical impairments, learning disabilities, or English language difficulties).
- Ensure training is delivered safely; report hazards, faulty equipment, accidents, or dangerous incidents immediately.
- Ensure availability of training equipment and resources, including printed materials for students.
- Ensure appropriate transition arrangements are in place for students undertaking training for qualifications due to expire or be superseded.
- Ensure all students have completed induction training and required documentation.
- For classroom-based learning: commence training on time, manage breaks appropriately, set up training rooms, and complete course reports.
- Implement continuous improvement processes by acknowledging and acting on feedback from students and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and counselling to students to ensure training outcomes are met.
Training Resources, Equipment & Facilities - Assist with the development of Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS).
- Assist with the development of training and assessment materials as required.
- Advise on the acquisition of training resources, equipment, and facilities.
- Assist with mapping training and assessment resources to meet Training Package requirements, principles of assessment, and rules of evidence.
Students - Attempt to deal with student complaints and appeals as the first point of contact.
- Liaise with students in a professional manner at all times.
Records - Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation for each training program, including course reports, student reports, and trainer/assessor reports.
- Ensure records are complete, thorough, and accurate; maintain confidentiality.
Self-Development & Performance - Actively undertake professional development to maintain currency of skills and knowledge in the VET system.
- Maintain industry vocational currency in all areas of expertise.
- Identify and access support as required; undertake performance reviews.
- Manage own time and priorities; advise Manager of availability in a timely manner.
- Complete induction including understanding all policies and procedures.
Evaluation of Products & Services - Ensure implementation of student, client, and employer feedback processes.
- Collect completed evaluation forms and return them with assessment documentation.
- Advise Manager of any negative feedback, complaints, grievances, or appeals.
Assessments - Explain fully to students the requirements and importance of assessments.
- Undertake assessments in accordance with Trainwest policies, including RPL.
- Plan and conduct assessments in the classroom and workplace in accordance with SRTOs, unit of competency, and Training Package requirements.
- Participate in validation and moderation meetings to review assessment processes, tools, and decisions..
Other Duties - Participate in meetings convened by Management to discuss training and assessment matters.
- Answer queries from clients on training and assessment services.
- Provide feedback to Manager regarding concerns about students, courses, premises, or facilities.
- Convey prospective business opportunities to Directors.
- Actively promote Trainwest training and assessment services.
- Perform all other duties as requested by management.
- Abide by the Trainwest dress code, including wearing provided name badge and/or uniform.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves) - Hold a TAE-listed Diploma, a higher qualification in adult education, or an equivalent qualification from the US, Philippines, or similar regions (must hold TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor, or the TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, AND a TAE-listed Diploma or higher).
- Hold matching TAE qualifications or skill sets at least to the level being delivered.
- Sound, practical knowledge of the Australian VET system, AQF, and Standards for RTOs.
- Hold vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed.
- Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided.
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs training and assessment.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have) - Vocational qualification(s) in specific area of industry expertise.
- Minimum 2 years of experience training and assessing, preferably within an RTO environment.
- Proven proficiency in adult learning facilitation, assessment, evaluation, and validation.
- Hands-on experience with Canvas (LMS) and PowerPro (Student Management System).
- Proficient with MS PowerPoint, data projection equipment, and Adobe Suite.
Core Skills - Highly proficient trainer and facilitator of adult learning and assessment.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills; ability to foster positive relations and influence outcomes.
- Experience in training, assessment, evaluation, and validation.
- Highly motivated, resourceful, and able to work autonomously and as an integral team member.
