Position Title:
Compliance Officer Work Arrangement: Remote - India
About the Role We’re a fast-growing, founder-led business that designs and manufactures products for international markets. The company has expanded quickly, and now we’re ready for a dedicated Compliance Officer to step in, take ownership, and help us build a world‑class compliance function.
If you’re a “paperwork animal” (in the best possible way) who enjoys structure, documentation, and getting things done, this role is for you.
You won’t just be maintaining a system – you’ll be creating it, improving it, and turning a reactive, “firefighting” environment into a proactive, well-structured compliance engine.
Key Responsibilities: - As our Compliance Officer, you will:
- Own product compliance for multiple markets, including Europe, the UK, the US and others as we grow.
- Prepare and review:
- Product labels and packaging information
- Carton markings
- Technical files and declarations
- Coordinate testing and certifications with manufacturers and accredited laboratories:
- Define test requirements
- Ensure the right tests are run and completed on time
- Work closely with suppliers to obtain:
- Regulatory documents
- Test reports
- Certificates and declarations
- Keep us up to date by monitoring regulatory changes and advising the business on what needs to be done.
- Build and improve internal processes:
- Create checklists, templates, and workflows
- Organize documentation so it’s easy to find, track, and maintain
- Support quality and sustainability:
- Work directly with the founder to take a major workload off his plate and help move the business from reactive problem-solving to structured, first-class compliance.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess: - Proven experience in Product Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, or a similar role in manufacturing or consumer products.
- Hands-on experience working with manufacturers, suppliers, and testing laboratories (ideally internationally).
- Practical knowledge of international product compliance standards, including several of: CE, UKCA, FCC, UL, RoHS, REACH / SVHC, WEEE, CPSIA, FDA, GSPR, PPWR, EUDR, LFGB
- Excellent written and spoken English – you’ll be dealing with UK and international partners.
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup, manage multiple projects, and see things through without micromanagement.
- A process-builder mindset – you like creating structure where there isn’t much yet.
- A proactive, persistent approach – you follow up, close loops, and don’t let things slip.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the confidence to advise the business on compliance requirements.
Nice to have: - Experience with consumer products, electronics, lighting, or similar manufactured products.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting and ESG initiatives.
- Exposure to ISO standards or Quality Management Systems (QMS) (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Experience working with international teams across UK and Asia time zones.
- Comfort using modern tools for document management, tracking, and collaboration.
- Awareness of or experience using AI tools to streamline research, documentation, or process management.
What we Offer - Health Insurance: We provide medical coverage up to 20 lakh per annum, which covers you, your spouse, and a set of parents. This is available after one month of successful engagement.
- Professional Development: You'll have access to a monthly upskill allowance of ₹5000 for continued education and certifications to support your career growth.
- Leave Policy: Vacation Leave (VL): 10 days per year, available after probation. You can carry over or encash up to 5 unused days.
- Casual Leave (CL): 8 days per year for personal needs or emergencies, available from day one.
- Sick Leave: 12 days per year, available after probation.
- Flexible Work Hours or Remote Work Opportunities – Depending on the role and project.
- Outsourced Benefits such as Paternity Leave, Maternity Leave, etc.
