Role Overview We are looking for a Fixed Asset Custodian to join our IT team. This role is the primary point of responsibility for the Company's IT assets, covering the full lifecycle from procurement to retirement. The Fixed Asset Custodian also supports new hires by providing the equipment they need, and maintains accurate documentation and procurement records.
This position is the starting point for a path into IT Support. During the probationary period, the employee serves as Fixed Asset Custodian and receives training in IT support. Based on demonstrated capability and performance, the employee will be promoted to IT Support Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
IT Asset Management - Act as the primary custodian of the Company's IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets: receiving, tagging, deployment, retrieval, repairs, inventory, safekeeping, and secure disposal.
- Maintain accurate asset records, including status, location, assigned user, warranty, and condition.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, collections, and periodic inventory audits to ensure asset accountability.
- Support adherence to IT best practices and security standards for the handling of IT resources.
New Hire Onboarding Support - Prepare and issue IT equipment to new hires in coordination with HR and the IT team.
- Make sure devices are configured and ready before the employee's start date.
- Collect and process equipment from departing employees.
Documentation & Procurement Management - Maintain accurate procurement records for hardware, software, and IT services.
- Prepare and file asset issuance, transfer, return, and disposal documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to support timely delivery, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the IT team of upcoming equipment needs.
- Keep purchase records, invoices, and warranty documents organized for audit and finance purposes.
Qualifications & Skills - 1 to 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or a related role.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with remote connectivity tools and practices.
- Ability to track and manage IT assets accurately.
- Experience maintaining records or procurement documentation is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
