Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and managing in-transit shipments to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries while maintaining proactive communication with carriers, customers, and internal teams. This role plays a critical part in identifying and resolving service issues, documenting shipment activity, and ensuring smooth overnight operations for the day shift transition.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor all in-transit shipments and ensure accurate load tracking
  • Track and trace loads to support on-time pickup and delivery performance
  • Follow established workflows, processes, and account-specific procedures aligned with the day shift team
  • Proactively identify delays, service failures, risks, and potential disruptions
  • Provide timely shipment updates to customers upon request
  • Monitor emails in real-time and respond promptly to carrier communications
  • Escalate operational issues and concerns to the appropriate internal teams
  • Ensure drivers are properly tracking and have received pickup numbers once tracking compliance is confirmed
  • Manage customer and carrier expectations during delays or service interruptions
  • Maintain accurate load notes, documentation, and prioritize active loads appropriately for handoff to the morning team
  • Assist with recovery load processes, including:
    • Posting recovery loads
    • Pitching loads to carriers
    • Vetting carrier qualifications and compliance
  • Coordinate with management by submitting carrier information for final review and booking approval
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, or supply chain operations preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
  • Proficient in email communication and shipment tracking systems
  • Ability to work independently during overnight operations
 
Additional Information:
  • Homebased
  • Must be willing to work on a shifting schedule and during weekends, 6am to 3pm / 11am to 8pm/ 12pm to 9pm
