The Client A remote-first technology team based in Australia , focused on building a new and innovative product. As we prepare for an upcoming product launch, we’re looking to expand our team with experienced Ruby on Rails engineers who are passionate about shipping high-quality software in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The Role We’re seeking
1-2 Mid to Senior-Level Ruby on Rails Engineers to join our team and contribute directly to the development of our core product. You will be working on a
monolithic Rails application, playing a key role in feature development, system architecture, and ensuring a scalable and maintainable codebase.
Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain features in a large Rails monolith
- Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to define and implement solutions
- Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term development strategies
- Ensure product stability and performance ahead of the upcoming launch
Requirements: - 4+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
- Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Experience working on monolithic Rails applications
- Familiarity with best practices for testing (RSpec, Minitest, etc.)
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating across time zones
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Nice to Have: - Experience with DevOps and deployment pipelines
- Background in early-stage product development or startups
- Experience with frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Stimulus)
