The Client
A Health Costing Experts in the health sectors of New Zealand, Australia, and the Middle East. Over 25 years, they have developed four core products: IntelPlus, a patient-centric business intelligence repository; CostPro, an Activity-Based Costing System for precise patient cost analysis; FocusPro, a KPI accountability framework; and ChargePro, a rules-based patient billing system with modern APIs.

The Role
Your job is to deliver outstanding technology-based solutions to client problems using best practices and defined processes.  In addition, you will be involved in growing your knowledge and skills to expand your ability to deliver projects on-time and within budget.

Key Accountabilities
  • SQL Development – the development and maintenance of code, typically developed in T-SQL, to manipulate, transform and calculate data. These need to be developed so they are robust, secure and efficient.
  • Query Optimisation – assisting other Developers in ensuring that code developed by the company executes efficiently.
  • Debugging Issues – investigating when things go wrong to understand what has happened, develop a suitable fix and correct the data as required.
  • Report Creation – develop reports in line with customer requirements using agreed reporting and dashboarding software.
  Software Development
  • Understand client problems and assist in designing, estimating, developing, testing and documenting a suitable technology-based solution within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensure that work assigned to you is prioritised and managed so that projects are delivered on-time.
  • Ensure you follow appropriate processes to efficiently perform your tasks and that quality solutions are produced within budget.
  • Ensure the project manager/senior developer for projects you are working on are kept up-to-date with your progress on assigned tasks.
Customer Service
  • Deliver high levels of customer service so clients have positive experiences with our company and our products.
  Personal Development
  • Ensure that your skills continue to grow. If you need training in a particular technique or technology, then bring this up with your Team Leader.
  • Share the knowledge and skills you have developed with other members within the company.
  Communication
  • Ensure open and pro-active communication within the company by contributing to meetings, workshops, etc.
  • Ensure the project manager/senior developer understands your progress against assigned tasks for the projects you are working on and is notified of any potential problems that may delay progress.
  Other Requirements
  • To be a positive, willing, contributing and adaptable member of the team at all times.
  • To familiarise themselves and understand the policies and procedures of the company's Quality Management System.
  • Complete weekly timesheets as required.
  • Travel to client premises to conduct work on-site for Clients as required. This may involve travel overseas as well as internally within New Zealand.
  • Complete other work as requested by the Operations Manager.
 EXPECTED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • A relevant tertiary qualification with a significant Information Technology component, or relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the tools, processes and techniques used in the development of software solutions.
  • Actively seeks to develop a broader and deeper understanding of the client’s domain.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

The performance indicators used to measure your performance and the performance of the team will fall into the following categories.  The specific measures and targets will be agreed with your manager:

  • Duration – Ensuring we are producing things within expected timeframes
